Ashley Wood Alsobrook, former Marine engineer with the United States Engineers and native of Shelby County, died at Reno, Nev., yesterday afternoon. He was 56 and had been in failing health over a year. Funeral arrangements in charge of W.J. Norris Funeral Home are incomplete. Mr. Alsobrook was born at Capleville and had lived in Memphis most of his life. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church and lived at 667 Leath. He leaves two daughters, Miss Marianne E. Alsobrook and Miss Helen Alsobrook, both of Memphis, and a son, George R. Alsobrook, in the Navy stationed at Millington. (Published in The Commercial Appeal, Memphis, TN, on July 3, 1943)
Requiem mass will be said at 9 o'clock this morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church for Ashley Wood Alsobrook, native Shelby Countian, who died last Friday at his home in Reno, Nev., after a long illness.
