Edward K. Kurtz, 78, of Wellington, died Friday at Allen Memorial Hospital, Oberlin, after a short illness.
He was born in Germany and operated a dairy farm in the Wellington area for many years. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Wellington.
Mr. Kurtz is survived by his wife, Elma (nee Hart); daughter, Kay Flick of Galion, Ohio; sons, Glenn Kurtz of Alabama, Kenneth Kurtz of Columbus, Scott Kurtz of Wellington; sisters, Alma Pleska of Columbia Station, Helen Spanski of Grafton; brother, Louis Kurtz of Wellington; half-brother, George Heintz of Spencer; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Kurtz.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Norton Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. The Rev. Dale Huelsman, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
