Funeral services for Mr. Floyd "Flash" Gorden, 65, of Bastrop are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2008 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Royce Christmas and Rev. Kevin Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery.
Mr. Gorden, a retiree of Bell South and member of Greenacres Baptist Church, passed away Friday, February 8, 2008 in Monroe, Louisiana. He was a member of Communication Workers of America and also a Vietnam Veteran that was wounded in action.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pat Gorden; daughter, Becky Wilkerson and husband John of Bastrop, LA; two sons, Eddie Gorden and wife Vickey Tubbs Gorden of Bastrop, LA, Michael Gorden and wife Christina of Lake Providence, LA; three sisters, Teressa Rodman and husband James of Monroe, LA, Dianne Shaw and husband John of Monroe, LA, Betty Jo Brown and husband David of Bossier City, LA; two brothers, Leslie Taylor of Dallas, TX, James Edward Gorden of Eros, LA; six grandchildren, Miranda Gorden, Alaina Gorden, Elizabeth Wilkerson, Daniel Wilkerson, Lauren Gorden and Michael Thomas Gorden.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. N.O. Gorden; four sisters, Odessa Stevenson, Evelyn Gorden, Nina Evans, Zelma Thompson; two brothers, W. D. Taylor and Clarence Taylor.

Pallbearers will be: Pee Wee Deforest, Jim Amerson, Doug Barton, Jerry Goodman, Allen Netles and Donnie Goldman.
