Peggy Ann Schumacher, 90, of Bowling Green, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Twin Oaks Heritage Point in Wentzville, Missouri.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 24, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church with Fr. Henry Ussher officiating. Visitation for Peggy will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church. Burial will be at St. Clement Catholic Cemetery.

Peggy was born May 3, 1932, in Cyrene, Missouri to Harry Dalton and Rissie (Robinson) Burks. She was united in marriage to John B. Schumacher on December 29, 1950, in Sacramento, California. He preceded her in death.

Also preceding Peggy in death were her parents; and siblings, Bettie Chargin (Tony), Marion England (Roy), and Bill Kemble (Charlene).

Surviving are children: Michael Schumacher (Lois) of Bowling Green, John Douglas Schumacher (Marilou) of Troy, Annette Meyer (Doug) of Troy, and Harry Dalton Schumacher (Bobbi) of St. Louis; grandchildren: Nicholas Meyer (Becky), Ben Meyer (Beth), Katie Lamar (Lucas), Meredith Glover (Zane), Brian Schumacher (Jennifer), John Schumacher, Katelyn Ellis (Jake), Connor Schumacher (Nicole Porter), and Payton Schumacher; twelve great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Peggy grew up in the Cyrene area on the family farm. After marriage, she spent the rest of her life in Bowling Green. She was a 1950 graduate of Bowling Green High School, where she was a cheerleader. Over time, Peggy held various positions but owning and operating Lamplighter Mobile Home Park was where she spent most of her time. The Schumacher family operated the business for 40 years and in 2000 Peggy officially retired.

Peggy was committed to her family and friends. A fierce defender of those she held close. She found much joy tending to her yard and her beautiful flower beds. A good game of cards (pitch was her favorite) filled her afternoons and there was nothing better than a good cup of coffee with friends. Peggy loved to shop and always had a new pair of shoes to show! She was a faithful member of St. Clement Catholic Church and an active member of the VFW Woman's Auxiliary. She will be remembered for her big heart and relationship with God. She will be missed but will remain in the hearts of those who loved her most.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Meyer, Ben Meyer, Brian Schumacher, John Schumacher, Connor Schumacher, Jake Ellis, and Lucas Lamar.
