Dorothy G. Hickman, 80, of Lake Waccamaw, NC, passed away October 19, 2022. She was born January 16, 1942 in Old Dock, NC to the late Burnice Winfred Gore and Maude E. Richardson Gore.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jacob M. Hickman; son, Burnice Bryson Hickman (Lynn); granddaughter, Kayla B. McDowell (Vernon); great-grandchildren, Sumer Rose McDowell, Taylor Hickman, Madison Locklear, Kendall Howard, and Austin Santana; two grandsons, Christopher B. Hickman and Jacob B. Hickman; step-granddaughter, Amanda Conway; step-grandsons, Evan Dean Conway and Matthew Conway; brothers-in-law, Louis B. Hickman and William S. Hickman (Louise); sisters-in-law, Mytrise McDowell, Julia Hickman Cordes, Delorise Garland, and Ruth Harrison (Bud). Dorothy is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and memorable friends.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Burnice Winfred Gore and Maude E. Richardson; brother, Winfred McCray Gore; and sister, Elizabeth O'Neal Gore.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday October 22, 2022 at Antioch Baptist Church, located at 1700 Midway Rd SE, Bolivia, NC 28422. A visitation will be held prior to the service, from 10 am until the service time. Interment will occur immediately after at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Anthony Clemmons will officiate.
