KINGSPORT – John "Carroll" Tunnell, 81, passed away on October 17, 2022, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Carroll was born in Greene County, TN on September 28, 1941. The way Carroll lived his life, he never complained. He always tried to push himself to go even though he had pancreatic cancer. He was a gentle soul that loved to smile. Carroll didn't need no rocking chair.
Carroll is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Ed and Donald Tunnell; sisters, Yvonda Center, Helen Tunnell.

Carroll is survived by his wife, Faye Tunnell; one brother, Harold Tunnell, brother-in-law, Ray (Priscilla) Adams; nephew, Chad (Lisa) Adams; niece, Leann (Bryan) Fleenor; great nephews, Cory and Dylan Fleenor.

A visitation will be held at Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home on Thursday October 20, 2022, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ronnie Owens officiating. A graveside service will follow at Morning Star Cemetery with Pastor James Adams officiating.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Jackson, Hobart Reynolds, Lane Alshire, Chris Odell, Dave Woody, Eugene Britton, Ted Cooter, Lonnie Keys, J.W. Lamb and Danny Breeding.
