OILTON, Nov. 27--Claude B. (Pop) Sierer, 77, retired farmer, railroad and oilfield worker, was given funeral services at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Oilton Methodist church.
Elder Samuel Eli, Seventh Day Adventist minister, officiated. Burial was in Oilton under direction of Peck Funeral home.
Pall bearers consisted of [names removed for privacy reasons].
Mr. Sierer died Wednesday night, November 21, in the Cimarron Valley Osteopathatic hospital, Yale, after a long illness.
He was born in Harding county, Ohio, on January 28, 1885, and grew up in Broughton, Ohio. Mr. Sierer was married December 24, 1905, to Elzina Lambert.
The family moved to Oilton in March, 1919, near the Vance chapel, and he went to work for an oil company. During his youth he was a member of the Brethren church. Following his marriage he was a member of the Church of Christ. He later became a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church.
Survivors are his wife, Elzina, of the home at South C street; five children, two sisters, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Children are Mrs. Martha Nicholas of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Fern Boblit of Quay, Mrs. Wilma Koppleman of Oklahoma City, Byron Sierer of San Antonio, Texas, and Kenneth Sierer of Oklahoma City. Sisters are Mrs. Hattie Rogers of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Mrs. Kate Mason of Bloomington, Ohio.
