Mrs. Lizzie Mae Bradley, who was 100 years old on December 5, was honored Thanksgiving Day with a family reunion at the Kingsley Lake Civic Center.
Seven of her eight children were in attendance to help her celebrate, along with 98 other relatives. She has 12 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 39 great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Bradley was born Dec. 5, 1890 in Winder, Ga., the daughter of the late John B. and Ella Treadwell. On January 12, 1908, she married the late James Madison Bradley of Monroe, Ga. They moved to Florida in 1922 where Mr. Bradley retired from the Florida State Prison after 33 years. He died in 1959.
Mrs. Bradley resided at Kingsley Lake for many years before recently moving to Radford where she resides with a daughter and son-in-law. She still enjoys talking about "the horse and buggy days" and is still attending church services at the First Baptist Church at Radford where she is a member.
The church declared Sunday, Dec. 3 as Lizzie Bradley Day where she was honored with dinner on the grounds and a Gospel Sing during the afternoon.
Mrs. Bradley's children are: Mrs. Rachel Geiger of Ashville, N.C.; Jack D. Bradley and Mrs. Bernice B. Cox of Orlando, Fla.; Mrs. Nell B. Dearborn, Reese C. Bradley and J.M. Bradley of Jacksonville; John Leslie Bradley of Starke and Mrs. Carolyn B. O'Guinn of Radford.
