The Late Mrs. F. W. Decker
Mary Elizabeth Alexander, beloved wife of Frederick W. Decker, Decker, Manitoba, passed quietly away at her home on Monday, August 15th, 1932, at 10:30 p.m. surrounded by her dear ones. Her death came as a peaceful and beautiful ending to many months of suffering.
Mrs. Decker came to this district from Highland Creek, Ontario over 40 years ago, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Alexander, and during a life of useful service has built for herself a never-to-be-forgotten memory in this community.
She leaves her husband and a family of three daughters, Beth, Gladys, and Dorene, and two sons. Reginald and Billy, the eldest of whom is 18 years and the younger 7 years; her widowed mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Alexander, and three brothers, Edgar of Decker and Everett and Robert of Calgary. She was predeceased by her older sister Ida, and two brothers, David and John.
She was an active member of Decker United Church in which she served as president of the Ladies Aid and for many years as treasurer of the W.M.S. of which society she was a live member. For over 30 years she was a devoted teacher of the Beginner's Class in the Sabbath School.
Many hundreds of the friends of the late Mrs. F. W. Decker gathered on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Decker Memorial Hall to pay their last tribute to one of this community's earliest settlers. The services, which were conducted by Rev. H. I. Bowman of Isabella, assisted by Rev. J. Douglas of Strathclair, Rev. J. C. Anderson of Basswood, and Rev. J. E. Cooper of Indian Springs, were opened by a beautiful choral number "Peace, Perfect Peace" and fittingly closed by the evening Vesper "Sleep on Beloved."
Many beautiful floral tributes testified to a life beloved by many. The services at the graveside were conducted by the members of Grace Rebekah Lodge. Interment was made in the family, plot in Hamiota Cemetery.

She was an active member of the local United church and Prominent in the work of the Ladies 'aid and the Women's Missionary society of which she was a life member. She was also a teacher in the Sunday school.
She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Beth, Gladys, and Dorene; and two sons, William and Reginald. Her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Alexander, and three brothers, Edgar, of Decker and Everett, and Robb, of Calgary, also survive
