Hazel was united in marriage to Lawrence E. Pierce and to this union one son was born.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lawrence in 1983; four sisters, Janie Williams, Aslee Zebel, Edna Burd and Audrey Jones; along with two brothers, Leslie and Ray Snow.
She is survived by one son, Tyra and his wife Kristy, of Springfield, Missouri; one sister, Neva Sutton, of Lebanon, Missouri; and two grandchildren, Tiffany and Regina; along with a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Hazel spent her early years in the Orla Community. She later moved to Kansas City where she worked in a factory making shell casings during World War II.
Later in life, Hazel would return to Lebanon to make her home.
She had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lebanon.
In her spare time Hazel enjoyed listening to classic country music and tending to her flowers and plants. Hazel loved her family dearly and greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whom she considered the most important things in her life.
Hazel was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Entombment will be in the Mount Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
