Elwyn, age 88, passed away at Ascension Via Christi Health Hospital in Manhattan. He was the son of Elwyn Guy Sr. and Mary Ruth (Alexander) Coffee. He graduated from Raytown (MO) High School in 1952, the University of Missouri in 1968 with a bachelors degree in biology, and Emporia State University in 1970 with a masters degree in Library Science. He was the librarian at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, and Universal Caribbean University School of Medicine in Basseterre, St. Kitts, West Indies. He married Janice Ellen Clawson on June 25, 1971, at First Christian Church in Manhattan. He is survived by his children, Caryn Davidson and Tom Coffee, two grandsons, and his brother, Eldon Coffee. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held December 23, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church in Manhattan. Scattering of his ashes will follow in the church's garden.
