Mary Margaret Bloom, 98, of Fulton, died Thursday, August 16, 2007 at Presbyterian Manor in Fulton. She was born July 13, 1909 in Fulton to the late Madge Elaine Reno Sampson and Edward Earnest (E.E.) Sampson. She married Richard Nichols Bloom in Fulton in 1931. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Barry Bloom of Golden, Colo; six grandchildren, Hannah Joy Bloom of Golden, Colo; David Bloom of Los Angeles, Calif; Mark Bloom of Williamsburg, Va; Kathy Keith Orlowski of West Plains; Jeff Keith of Bozeman, Mont; Randy and Danny Keith of Hamilton, Mont; many great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. A daughter also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bloom grew up in Carrington on the family farm. She graduated from William Woods College in 1929. Later she returned to William Woods to work in the business office and as the "voice of William Woods" as the telephone operator. She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Fulton and also belonged to Eastern Star. She also wrote many of the lyrics for the annual Kiwanis Show during the 1950s and 60s.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2007 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri with Rev. Ray Dunlap officiating. Visitation is from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial at First Christian Church.
