On July 2, 2016, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away. Born Maggie Frances Brannen on December 2, 1926, in Eau Galllil, Florida to Dennis and May Belle Brannen, she was the oldest daughter in a family of fifteen siblings. After she completed her education at Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Fla., Maggie married Arthur Earl Kelly of the U.S. Navy in December 1944. Within five years, they would have two children, Larry Earl and Norma Jean. Aruthur died in 1954, leaving Frances to raise the two children. She worked for a while at a child care center in Lexington Park, Maryland supporting her family.A year later in Corpus Christi, she married Jimmie Glen Hillin and had a third child, Jimmie Glen, Jr. As a housewife and part time employee of a doctor's office Maggie developed quite an interest in playing bridge, joining the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL), earning a Life Master honor playing in tournaments all over Texas and the United States. With her husband, Frances started a new business, Emblematics, Inc. in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1970. The business ran successfully for fifteen years, selling trophies, plaques and awards of all types, including graduation gowns, band uniforms and diplomas.

Her children grown and starting lives of their own, Frances divorced Jim in 1980.At the age of 82, Frances married her lifelong friend, Charles Galbraith, former pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church. They bought a house together in southern Corpus and lived happily together for several years, attending services, singing in the choir and having fun with her church family. Failing health took Charles earlier this year, and Frances followed just four months later on July 2nd.We are forever grateful for her many friends who helped and took care of her, among those, friend and caregiver Patricia Brown, great friend Brenda Gutmann, and lovely neighbors, Patrick and Dawn Cox continue to work and assist us with handiwork and everyday chores. Also, in our thanks, the many friends and neighbors she loved as her church family at Grace Presbyterian Church.

Frances chose to donate her body for medical research, and a Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.Frances was preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings and her oldest son.She is survived by seven siblings, her daughter, Norma Jean Franklin of Corpus Christi, her daughter-in- law, Suzanne Kelly of Waco, Texas., her son, Jim Hillin, and wife, Kim, of Los Angeles, California, and seven grandchildren, Jo Kelly of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, Rebecca Fairman of Yuma, Arizona., Richard Jobe of Helena, Alabama, Ryan Kelly of Austin, Texas., Kevin Kelly of Waco, Texas., Michael Kelly of San Francisco, California, Jack Hillin of Los Angeles, California, and three great-grandchildren.Frances ended life as a 'Texas Woman' - Often laughing, sometimes funny, sometimes stern, sometimes shaking a fist at the world. She rooted for her Dallas Cowboys and loved her many miniature dachshunds. She cared deeply about everyone and did her best to make the life she shared with us a better one. She will be greatly missed.
