Mamie Woods
WEIR, Kan. - Mamie E. Pallett Woods, 93, who lived at Columbus and also maintained a home in Weir, died at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday at Maude Norton Memorial Hospital, Columbus, after an illness of one year.
Mrs. Woods was born Feb. 17, 1892, at Midway, and lived most of her life in Weir. She lived with a daughter at Columbus the past 28 years, and maintained her home in Weir, staying here weekends. She worked several years for the Berry Garment Factory, Columbus, retiring in 1956. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Weir.
Surviving are a son, John R. Pallett, Weir; three daughters, Lorene Magers, Commerce, Okla., Deloris Torchia, Pittsburg, and Lenora Christiansen, Columbus; two sisters, Amy Mason and Marie Manley, both of Pittsburg; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Naylor Funeral Home, Weir. The Rev. Don Harper will officiate.
Burial will be in Hosey Hill Cemetery, Weir.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the Shriners’ Crippled Children Fund.
