served as private in the Massachusetts troops under Captains Partridge and Cobb, Colonels Cushing and Mitchell during the Amercian Revolution, married to Sarah Pool who died April 12, 1788, father of seven sons and two daughters, one son died in the French & Indian (Seven Years') War, the other six sons also fought in the American Revolution

Mother: Mercy Reed Ford who is a descendant of Mayflower passenger, Francis Cooke. Her maiden name was Reed (Reade). Her first husband was Nicholas Whitmarsh. He died about 1705-1706 and she married her second husband, Andrew Ford III, on Nov. 27, 1706. This has been well documented in journal articles and the book, "Francis Cooke of the Mayflower" by Ralph Wood.
