OLD RESIDENT DIES.

David S. Whitaker, for years a Deputy in Office of the County Clerk, Passes Away.

Davld Stanton Whitaker, a well-known resident of this city for the past twenty years, died on Monday, at Hyde Park, aged 63 years. The deceased was native of Ohio, but for some years resided in Indiana and served there as County Clerk of Greene county. In 1887 he removed to Los Angeles and for many years he was a Deputy in the office of the County Clerk, having retired from that position nine years ago on account of failing health. He had had been more or less of an invalid since that time. He leaves three daughters, Mrs. C. E. McStay and Miss Georgia Whitaker of this city and Mrs. Sefton Findlay of Liverpool, Eng. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the undertaking palors of Bresee Bros. Rev. Will A. Kniifhten. pastor of Union-avenue Methdist Church, officiating. Interment will be private.
