Barbara Alice Black Jenkins, 87, of Orem passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the American Fork Hospital in American Fork, Utah.

She was born September 4, 1920 in Ganada, AZ to William Maxwell and Charlottie Julia Killian Black. She married Maurice Jenkins on July 22, 1941 in Glendale, CA. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on October 5, 1949. Maurice passed away in 1995.

Barbara grew up in Springville and attended schools there. Barbara and Maurice spent their married life in Orem where they raised their three children. They were avid golfers and enjoyed the time they spent together at home and during winters in St. George where they made life-long friends. Of the many jobs Barbara held during her life, the most cherished was that of grandmother to five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who referred to her as "Grandma Grapes".

She is survived by her three children: Maurice Alan (Sally) Jenkins, Bartlesville, OK; William John (Michelle) Jenkins, Pleasant Grove; Julia (Richard) Castleberry, West Jordan; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Pat) Black, Orem; daughter-in-law, Eunice Jenkins, Clearfield.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. Mahogany Sixth Ward Chapel, 1541 North 1300 West, Pleasant Grove where friends may call from 12:30-1:45 p.m.
Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove.
