David Ennis Poulsen
Nampa - David Ennis Poulsen, 95, of Nampa, Idaho returned home to his Heavenly Father surrounded by his family on October 6, 2022. David was born May 8, 1927, to Chris & Catherine Poulsen in Twin Falls, Idaho. David was a baker in his younger years then joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He served during WWII on the Navy ship USS Helena as a Marine. David then took up the trade of masonry contractor which he made his profession up until his retirement.
David married the love of his life Doris Elna McCormack on June 29, 1955. They were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. Their family consisted of six children. David and Doris served as temple workers in the Boise Idaho Temple in their later years. They celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary in 2020 just 2 months before his beloved wife passed away. They are now reunited once again.
David enjoyed fishing, model airplanes, building things out of wood like: bird houses, toys, airplanes, cars, little backhoes, and doll cradles for his grandchildren.
David is survived by his six children: Peggy (Davis) Katsilometes, Chris (Carrie) Poulsen, Suzanne Ferguson, Kevin (Jan) Poulsen, Kim (Melodie) Poulsen, and Julie Dory; 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister Shirley Willmore. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sweet wife; two sisters Betty Griffin and Bernice Griffith; his brother Jack Poulsen; two sons-in-law Kenneth Dory and David Ferguson; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, Oct 15 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 121 N Canyon St in Nampa. A viewing will be held from 6 to 7:30pm at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd, Nampa and again from 10 to 10:45am at The Church prior to the services.
