PITTSBURG, Kan.— George Garritson, 74, 304 N. Catalpa Ave., was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at Mount Carmel Medical Center here at 12:25 p.m. Sunday. Death was attributed to a sudden illness occurring at his home.
Mr. Garritson was born June 28, 1901, in Weir. He was a resident of Pittsburg since 1957 and an employe of the City of Joplin for 20 years, retiring in 1966. He married Edith Farrell Sept. 20, 1925, in Weir. He was a member of Black Diamond Masonic Lodge, Weir.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, Ed Garritson, Commerce, Okla., and Don Garritson, Pittsburg route 2; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Craig, Jasper, Mo., route 2; a sister, Mrs. Achsah Dunbar, Weir; eight grandchidren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be announced by Naylor Funeral Home, Weir.
