I just happened to notice that this obituary says he is buried in Basinger Cemetery. And according to my records, he is buried in Basinger :)

Dewey 'Rusty' Vinson Baker, III, age 45, died Saturday, July 17, 2004.

A 30-year resident of Okeechobee, Rusty was self employed as a roofing contractor. He served as a Quartermaster in the United States Navy, was a member of the Okeechobee Masonic Lodge and enjoyed hunting and motorcycle riding.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Dewey Baker, Jr.; mother, Marie; grandparents, Walker and Betty Penton; and, granddaughter, Deidra Dunson.

He is survived by: his wife, Cindy; son, Rome Baker; stepson, Shelby Dunson (Jennifer); stepdaughter, April (Rose) Dunson, all of Okeechobee; five grandsons, William Rose, Cory Rose, Danial Dunson, Walker Rose and Mason Rose, all of Okeechobee; two brothers, Randy Baker of Okeechobee and Wayne Baker (Robbie) of Port St. Lucie; two sisters, Tina, (Strawberry) and Tammy, (Jeff); and, stepmother, Barbara Baker, all of Okeechobee.


Friends may call at the Buxton Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 20, 2004, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 a.m., July 21, 2004, at the Okeechobee Church of God on N.E. 4th Avenue.

Interment will follow at Basinger Cemetery.
