Ruth Imogene Bennett, 91, died Monday, May 26, 2003, at Graham Oaks Care Center. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Mosser, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery in Young County under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bennett was born Dec. 16, 1911, in Mineral Wells to the late Wilfred Frank and Cannie E. (Wortham) Colwell. She married Orton Bennett, Jr. March 3, 1928, in Graham, Texas. He preceded her in death Jan. 19, 1977. Mrs. Bennett was a member of First United Methodist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Joyce Evelyn Shack and Shirley Sue Bennett.

Survivors include a son, Jerry Bennett and wife Debbie of Pace, Fla.; a brother, Walter Colwell of Kyle; a sister, Alice Ann Watkins of Hardy, Ark.; five grandchildren, Sherri Chandler and husband Joe Ed of San Angelo, Beverly Mitchell and husband Dave of Arlington, Jeffrey Bennett and wife Oksana of Everett, Wash., Jacqueline Nichole Bennett of Pensacola, Fla., and Buddy Gregg and wife Linda of Graham; and six great-grandchildren.
