J.C. worked in the service department at Stowers Machinery Corp., a local Caterpillar dealer, for over 40 years. He was previously a member of Keystone Presbyterian Church for many years, where he served as an elder, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher, and a choir member. For the last five years, he has been a member of First Church of the Brethren. J.C. was also a member of the Johnson City Senior Citizens "Musical Voices". He enjoyed working in his garden and wood working.
In addition to his parents, J.C. was preceded in death by: one son, Michael Wayne Gage, in 1980.
