Obituary of Corsicana Daily Sun
July 2, 1924:
J.A. DuBose Died
Here Last Night
J.A. DuBose, aged 86 years, and a resident here for sixty years, died at his home on North Thirteenth street north of Post Oak creek, at 4 o'clock this morning, and the remains were Interred In the Modrell cemetery at 4 O'clock this afternoon, with services conducted by Rev. J.A. Sanders pastor of the Zion's Rest Methodist church.
The deceased was a Confederate veteran, and was esteemed as a good citizen and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. He is survived by three sons, Walter DuBose of Zion's Rest; J.M. DuBose of Corbet and Julius DuBose of Corsicana. The funeral was largely attended and there were many floral tributes.
