PLAINVIEW - Henry Wallace Slayton, 73, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, in Lubbock.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor, and the Rev. Robert Roecker, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. Slayton was born in Decatur. He attended schools in Flomot and graduated in Quitaque. In 1952 he moved to Edmonson, where he farmed until 1997. He was a member and deacon of College Heights Baptist Church.

He was a former director of the Co-op and president of the Farm Bureau in Hale County. He was the director of the Senior Citizens.

Mr. Slayton married Aubrey Grundy in 1952 at Lubbock.

Survivors include his wife; twin daughters, Terri Slayton and Jerri Slayton, both of Amarillo; and a brother, Bobby Slayton of Plainview.

The family suggests memorials be to College Heights Baptist Church.
