Agnes E. Bechtol, age 92, of Coshocton, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 26, 2022. She was born on September 11, 1930, in West Union, West Virginia to the late Lloyd and Mary (Spurr) Demastus.
She graduated from Victory High School and attended the Cleveland Bible College, where she met the love of her life, Fred Bechtol. They were married on April 10, 1953 and spent 57 wonderful years together until Fred's passing on June 26, 2010.
Agnes was a member of the Coshocton Church of the Nazarene and was a church greeter for many years. She and her husband Fred volunteered for the American Red Cross for many years and she volunteered at the Senior Center in Coshocton. Agnes was an award-winning candy-maker at the Coshocton County Fair and enjoyed baking, especially pies and cookies. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren and will be remembered for her kindness and love she showed to others.
Along with her parents and husband, Agnes is preceded in death by her son-in-law, John Ellis and siblings, James and Donald Demastus, Betty Hochadel, Mildred Dotson and Ella Stewart.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home and from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
