Ellis Ray (Hub) Willard
1945 - 2022
Ellis, fondly known as "Hub" by all who knew him, a loving husband, dad, papa, brother, uncle & friend, was reunited with the love of his life, Shirley Mae, on Saturday, June 4, 2022.
To know Hub was to love him; you couldn't help it. He was the most loving & generous soul you'd ever meet. He gave the best advice & the warmest, tightest hugs. He left a lasting impact on every person that met him. He loved big & fiercely. His family was everything to him & he to them. The world lost a great man but Heaven gained a cowboy-boot-Stetson-wearing Angel.
Hub was born in Harrisburg, Arkansas on November 7, 1945 to Perry & Lucille Willard. He was the third of six children. Hub met the love of his life, Shirley, as kids & married at the young age of sixteen. At the time of Shirley's passing in 2018, they stood side-by-side as loving husband & wife for almost 56 years. They shared a once in a lifetime love story & served as a genuine example of what every relationship should strive for. They shared two children together, Tony & Sherry; 2 grandchildren, Kara & TJ; 2 great grandchildren (with one on the way), Finnigan, Colson & (Delainey); and 7 adopted-in-heart grand & great grandchildren.
Hub's family finds strength & comfort in knowing that he will suffer no longer & has been reunited with his forever love. Where there is deep grief, there was great love.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 14th from 4-8pm at Greenlawn SW, 2739 Panama Ln. Bakersfield Ca 93313. Services will be Wednesday, June 15th at 10am with a short graveside service immediately following. Reception information will be announced at that time.
