Lawrence A. Poteet, 82, formerly of Oxnard, passed peacefully on Jan. 9, 2008, in Payson, Ariz.
He was born Jan. 15, 1925, Portland, Colo., and lived in Canon City, Colo. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a retired teamster.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Abner and Virginia Poteet, and son Dennis Poteet.
He is survived by his former wife, Ruth MacDonald of Victoria, British Columbia; son Larry of Camarillo; daughter, Yvonne and husband Michael Milton and their kids, Connor and Sasha of Ormond Beach, Fla.; grandson Ryan, wife Angie Poteet and their kids, Aiden and Austin of Fredicburg, Va.; daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Poteet and family; grandson Ben and wife Allison and their son, Hayden Faucet, of Fillmore; and grandson Dave and wife Ingrid and their son Lennon Faucet of Ventura.
