Port Orange, FL - Edward T. Rockwell, Sr., formerly of Cumberland, passed away on May 23, 2022, at his home in Port Orange, FL.

He was born on June 9, 1941, in Cumberland, to the late Albert T. Rockwell and Blanche C. (Riggleman) Rockwell. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Angela J. (Muir) Rockwell, in 2007; two grandchildren, Michael A. Corbin and Christina D. Conrey; two brothers, Albert (Pete) Rockwell, and Donald Rockwell; three sisters, Blanche (Tooter) Davis, Alberta (Buck) Taylor, and Elaine Simpson.

Ed attended Fort Hill High School. He was a construction superintendent for I. A. Construction, Cumberland, for 30 years. He moved to Florida in 1995 after retirement, but continued working until retiring again in 2007 from his lawn business. He currently resided with his daughter, Connie.

He was a phenomenal man. He held a brown belt in karate and martial arts, he played semi-pro football for the Cumberland Cougars, he enjoyed horseshoes, and played softball for the VFW. He played baseball, he liked boxing and weightlifting, he enjoyed NASCAR, playing poker, fishing, and watching NFL, especially his Washington Redskins.

He is survived by his son, Edward T. Rockwell Jr. and wife Sheila, Duncansville PA; three daughters, Angela J. Corbin and husband Mike, Cumberland, Jeanette D. Rockwell, Port Orange, FL, and Connie A. Rockwell and Johnny, Port Orange FL; three brothers, Harvey Rockwell, Cumberland, Ronald Rockwell and wife Jody, Cumberland, and Bobby Rockwell, Lonaconing; two sisters, Barbara Logston and husband Mike, Wiley Ford, and Deanna Rockwell, NE; 10 grandchildren; and over 20 great-grandchildren.

He was the best husband, father, brother, and pappy anyone could ask for. We will miss his wit and sense of humor the most, and he will forever be loved by us.

Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Monday, June 6, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home immediately following visitation at 1:30 p.m. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
