A Mass of Christian Burial for Abraham "Abe" Joseph Doucette, 50, will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 175 Ambassador W. Lemelle Drive. Monsignor Ronald Broussard will be officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Loreauville.

The family will receive visitors from 7 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m.

Abraham was a lifelong resident of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Whitney and Mildred Broussard Doucette and a brother Lloyd Doucette. Abraham passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, here in New Iberia.

Abraham leaves to cherish his memory his seven siblings Russell (Lula) Doucette of New Iberia, Ronald (Sheron) Doucette and Leroy (Juanita) Doucette, both of Los Angeles, Gretal (Gwendolyn) Doucette and Josephine Raymond, both of Inglewood, Calif., Larry (Ellen) Doucette of Houston and David (Sarah) Doucette of Arlington, Va.; one aunt Geneva Paul of Galveston, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Russell Doucette, Gretal Doucette, Leroy Doucette, Larry Doucette, David Doucette and Joe Raymond.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Doucette, Josephine Raymond, Raymond Doucette, Joseph Doucette, and Troud Doucette.
