Maria Crabtree was born in 1846 in Crabtree Cove, near the Tennessee/Alabama state line in the head of Hurricane Creek of the Paint Rock River.
Her parents were M C Crabtree and Lucy Crabtree and her grandmother was Margaret Crabtree, born in 1788 in North Carolina.
She married David Crockett Rice on Sept 23, 1860, the service being conducted by Rev. Simpson West.
Maria and David were the parents of 8 children. :

In the 1910 census, Mirah is living on High Street in Winchester, in the home with daughter Lula Rich and son in law Henry Rich ( who is a Barber in town) and the youngest daughter Lucy who is listed here as Callie Rice.
Other researchers have provided her death date. It is believed she is buried beside her husband in an unmarked grave. This has not been verified at this time.
