DEATH CLAIMS F. E. HOFFMAN
Funeral At Adnah Church Tomorrow for Prominent Farmer
Frederick Eugene Hoffman, 70, of the Mt. Holly community died at the home of his son Joe Hoffman about 7 o'clock last night after several months of illness.
Funeral services will be held at Adnah Methodist Church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock with the Rev. O. H. Pearce and the Rev. J. F. Lupo officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hoffman a native of Tirzah, was a successful farmer for many years. He was a son of the late Frederick Hoffman and Mrs. Lavernia Lineberger Hoffman of North Carolina and was married to the late Miss Annie Lee Carroll in 1888. He was a member of Adnah Methodist Church and was possessed of many qualities which made him a good and useful citizen. His passing will bring sorrow to many.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. C. L. Hudspeth and Felder Hoffman of the Saluda road; Mrs. George D. Smith of Rock Hill, R. H. Hoffman, York, Tolley Hoffman, Joe Hoffman and Campbell Hoffman of Mt. Holly and Lee Hoffman of Ogden.
Also surviving are these sisters, Mrs. W. A. Carroll, Tirzah, Mrs. John Atkins, Mt. Holly and Mrs. J. T. Neely, Rock Hill; a brother, W. E. Hoffman of Winnsboro, Texas and 15 grandchildren.
Pallbearers at the services will be Lewis Hudspeth, Roy Hudspeth, Harry Craig, Banks Hope, Roy Carroll, Ester Carroll.
The honorary escort will Include W. J. Gardner, B. A. Westbrook, W. P. Craig, H. W. Mitchell, I. P. Boyd, M. B. Craig, P. C. Wolfe, B. N. Craig, J.T. Thompson, W. S. Sparks, C. L. Bagley, T. S. Rogers, P. D. Gaston, J. W. Faulkenberry, Frank Barron, Dr. J. N. Gaston, Dr. F. P. Gaston and C. C. Hope.
