Robert L. Northern, age 79, of 532 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, Ohio, died Friday at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton after a short illness. He had lived in the Lewisburg area since 1945 and had retired from the Kurz Kasch Company in Dayton in 1970 and was a member of the Local 45 AFL-CIO in Dayton. His wife Zelma died in 1982.

He is survived by 4 sons, Herbert of West Alexandria, Ohio, Jerry of New Paris, Ohio, Keith of Huber Heights, Ohio and Charles of Berea, Kentucky; 1 daughter, Gertrude McDaniels of Dayton; a sister, Dorothy Eden of Berea, Kentucky; 4 brothers, Charles of Dayton, Sherman and Hardie, both of Berea, Kentucky and Ira of McKee, Kentucky; 20 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Barnes Funeral Home – Lewisburg Chapel, with the Rev. Martin Peacock officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Cemetery at Lewisburg. Family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Lewisburg Emergency Unit.
