Joy Lee Brinduse
72, died at home after a sudden injury on September 8, 2020. She was born June 6, 1948 to Earl and Su (Smith) Lautzenheiser. Joy was a 1966 graduate of South Side High School of Muncie, Indiana and received a Bachelor's degree from Ball State University. In 1993 she married Thomas Brinduse. Joy worked for 18 years as an accountant and retired as the Chief Financial Officer of Markey's Rental and Staging. She was a devoted wife, daughter, mother and grandmother.
Joy belonged to "The Creek" Christian Church, was an active member of the Zonta Club of Indianapolis, in which she was the Past President and Treasurer. She was a member of the POW MIA Council of Indianapolis and volunteered at Anderson Christian School. Joy enjoyed walking, running, bird watching, the outdoors and spending time with her family --- especially her grandchildren.
Joy is survived by her husband, Thomas Brinduse; children, Heather Howard (David), Mindelyn Heath, Holly Surufka (Mark), Jamison Heath, Tania White (Woody), Rachel Brazo (Nathan) and Rebecca Heath (Bill Ladd); grandchildren, Alanna Heath (Charles Crespin), Matthew Surufka, Emma Surufka, Sophia Howard, Liam Surufka, Violet Joy White and Wolfgang White; mother, Su Lautzenheiser; siblings, Beth Jones (Don), Peter Lautzenheiser (Laurie), Eric Lautzenheiser (Casey), and Lisa Hytinen (Paul); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Joy is preceded in death by her father, Earl Lautzenheiser and brother, Michael Lautzenheiser.
Celebration of Life Visitation will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 at noon until time of Service at 2:00 pm. Services will be at The Southport Presbyterian Church, 7525 McFarland Blvd., Indianapolis, IN 46237.
