Jean Elizabeth Humpert, 77, Greensburg, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, in the I.O.O.F. Home.

Born Sept. 4, 1922, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of Milton F. and Effie (Lee) Barnard. She married Maurice E. Humpert on July 11, 1942, in Rushville, and he preceded her in death on July 7, 1984.

She was the owner of the Lake Santee Restaurant for over 20 years. She was a graduate of New Salem High School. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church and was a Red Cross volunteer and school organizations volunteer.

She is survived by one son, Mark E. Humpert; one daughter, Susan C. (Mrs. Russell) Arbuckle of St. Paul; three sisters, Mary Alice (Mrs. Don) Crawley, Ruth (Mrs. Don) Wilhoit, and Jackie (Mrs. Joe) Swegman, all of Greensburg; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, John M. Humpert; one daughter, Nancy Humpert; and one brother, Rolland Lee Barnard.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg, with the Revs. Lloyd Poe and William Thompson officiating.

Burial will be at South Park Cemetery in Greensburg.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
