Joel "Sam" Arnett, 57, of Macon Ga passed away Wednesday September 21, 2022.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday September 24, 11:00 am at Lizella Baptist Church. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.

Sam was born in Macon, Ga on February 10, 1965. As an Army brat the family moved around and finally settled for several years in Weaver Alabama where he graduated from Weaver High School.

As a child Sam was very mischievous and always kept his parents on their toes. Throughout his life he touched many hearts and always made a lasting impression. He was the kind of person that would take the shirt off his back for you and literally was a phone call away no matter what you needed. His happy place was always in a boat with a fishing rod in his hand or in the woods during hunting season.

Sam was blessed to spend the last several years with the love of his life Tammy. Although their love story was not as long as they would have liked, he was the happiest he had ever been. Sam and Tammy knew each other for over 30 years and always held a special bond. The stars finally aligned, and their love story unfolded.

Tammy was instrumental in Sam's walk with the Lord, and they regularly attended Lizella Baptist Church where he was baptized.

Sam was preceded in death by parents David and Florence Arnett.

He is survived by his loving wife Tammy Arnett, sister Sandra Townsend, niece Casey (Mike) Gallagher, nephew Jonathan Townsend, great nephews Chase and Jaxon Gallagher, several aunts, uncles, cousins and his fur babies Mae Belle and Sweetie Pie.
