Lorene J. Hammon, age 85, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2022 at the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. She was born on June 4, 1937, in Marysville, Kansas to Fred and Martha (Schultz) Harries.
She graduated from Marysville High School in the Class of 1955.
Lorene married Charles W. Hammon and they raised 3 children.
Lorene worked approximately 13 years for Scott Specialties Inc. in Concordia many years ago. She was also a homemaker.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Concordia.
Lorene enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking for her family making incredible meals. Most of all she loved spending time with and caring for her family.
She is survived by her 3 children, daughter; Linda Kay, Concordia, KS; her son, Charles Hammon and wife Air, Wichita, KS; her 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Martha, 2 brothers, Lawrence and Vern Harries, a sister, Shirley Frahm.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 am, Friday, September 23, 2022 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Whitead officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.
The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church, Concordia in care of the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
