Abel Amherst Coult was born on February 18, 1875 in Kiddere, Caldwell County, Missouri, and he was the son of Stephen Chase Coult (1835–1922) and Delana A (Allen) Coult (1847–1918).

He was married 1st on November 5, 1907 in Saint Louis, St Louis County, Missouri to Edith M McDow (1882–1915). He was married 2nd on July 15, 1920 in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida to Gladys Maud Richardson (1889–1981).

An office manager for Southern States Industry/Industrial Council and living at 3725 Richland Avenue in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, Abel was 89 years old and married when he passed away at home on November 5, 1964.

Survivors included his widow Mrs Gladys Richardson Coult, brother Frank H Coultin Richmond Heights, Missouri, sister Mrs Anna L McNary of Chaute, Kansas, nieces Miss Mable McNary, Mrs Lorna Coult Foster, Georgia Merrill Coult, Mrs Doris Coult Gossett and Mrs Marjorie Coult Collins and nephew Herbert A Coult.

Funeral Services were held on November 9th at Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home, and burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville, with many, many, many Honorary Pallbearers listed.
