Dixie LaRue White, 93, passed away September 17, 2022 at her home, with her family by her side.
She was born January 4, 1929 to Leo Gray and Mary Thomas Gray in Waverly, Iowa. She married John Lewis White on September 14, 1946 in Charles City, Iowa. They raised their family in Borger, Texas.
She was a long-time member of the New Life Church, formerly known as Bunavista Baptist Church. She joined the church in September 1990 and was blessed to be the only remaining member of the church at that time. She sang in the choir and loved to go to church early to sit and drink coffee and visit with other members.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, and her sister, Faye Binger.
She is survived by her two daughters, Julie Packebush and husband Paul, and Kathie Higgins and husband Tony; four grandkids, Traci Overpeck and husband Patrick, Cody Lucas, Daniel Higgins and wife Amy, and Wesley Higgins and wife Alexis; eight great grandkids, Dylan Overpeck and wife Shelby, Mallory Overpeck, Alyssa Overpeck, Hunter Vagrosky and wife Katie, Peyton Wall, Maci Higgins, Caleb Higgins and Carley Higgins; and five great-great grandkids.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 20, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Burgin Funeral Home, 200 S. McGee. Dixie's funeral will be Wednesday, September 21, at 1:30 p.m. at the New Life Church, #2 Amaryllis, Borger, Texas.
