Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 21 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at a later date.
She was born September 22, 1950 in Ottawa, a daughter of George A. and Vera (Fowler) Gumm. She married Roger Lee Cade and he died July 4, 1988. In 2001, she married Wesley Ratcliff who also preceded her in death on June 15, 2021.
Dixie had been employed by Nabisco and later by Clover until her retirement. She loved to fish and was an avid horseback rider, especially enjoying trail rides with her family and friends. She was loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by seven children: Dawn (Kevin) Gauntt of Texas; Margie Shannon of Streator; Jill (Roger) Conrad of Streator; Roger Cade of Granville; Brenda Sheedy of Coal City; Rhonda (Scott) Yetton of Noblesville, Indiana; and Brian Ratcliff of Easton, Kansas; sixteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: Roger Lee Cade on July 4, 1988 and Wesley Ratcliff on June 15, 2021; one daughter: LeeAnne Riss; one granddaughter: Katelin Marie Bales; three sisters: Donna, Kay, and Linda; and two brothers: Roger A. Gumm and Allen Eugene Gumm.
