He was born in Johnstown, the son of the late Ivory and Mariam (Beam) Smith.
Donald married Donna J. Lego on October 22, 1966 at Juniata United Methodist Church.

He was a graduate of Johnstown High School. Donald was a US Marine Corp Veteran.
He retired from Small Tube Products, Duncansville as a foreman with 40 years of service.
Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, was a big sports fan-especially football, he loved being outdoors.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at the Stevens Memorial Chapel, 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602 with Rev. Dr. Randy Willis officiant. Committal will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
