Sam married Sheila Council in 1985 in Odessa, Texas. He was a man of Catholic faith who found joy in the simple things in life. For over 30 years, he worked as a driller in the oil field, and later worked as a heavy equipment operator for L&N Bridge. Sam enjoyed working on his truck, RC airplanes, and drinking cold beer. He was a master of all things he put his mind and hands to. Above all else, he cherished his time spent visiting with his grandkids.
Sam is preceded in death by his wife: Sheila Cessna; mother and step-father: Carol Foltz and Cap Foltz; father: Oliver Cessna; and brother: Dana Cessna.
He leaves many behind to cherish his memory, including: children: Michael Cessna, Brittany Cessna, Brandon Cessna, and Cory Cessna, all of Antlers, OK; brothers: Tim Cessna and Mark Cessna, both of Texas; and grandchildren: Blake Cessna, Bralynn Cessna, Ashlynn Cessna, Pheanix Cessna, and Lincoln Cessna.
