Graveside service with military honors for Harold Downs Nixon, 94, will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Carmel Cemetery. Mr. Nixon passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022. He is survived by his children, Harold Mark Nixon (Sandra) of Snellville, Georgia, Randy Clark Nixon (Cheryl) of Demorest, Georgia, Charlotte Ann Taylor (Clark) of Jacksonville and Matthew Brian Nixon (Melanie) of Piedmont; nine grandchildren, Tammy Nixon, Christy Nixon, Amy Nixon Couch, Julie Jones, Jason Simmons, Shaw Nixon, Brooke Nixon, Kaity Nixon and Amelia Nixon; several great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mr. Nixon was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Nixon; grandson, Mark Nixon;and his parents, Henry and Ira Nixon.
