Mary J. Hufnagle, a longtime resident of Sellersville, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. She was 98.

She was the beloved wife of the late Henry J. Hufnagle for 35 years until his death in 1977.

Born in Perkasie, she was the daughter of the late J. Richard and Abbie (Yoder) Sterner. She was a graduate of Sell-Perk High School, Class of 1941.

A homemaker, Mary had lived her life for her family, always telling her children that she was rich in so many ways that money could not compare.

As a lifelong, active member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, Perkasie, Mary had served on the culinary committee for many years. She had also participated in the church's quilting group.

An avid quilter, she had delighted in quilting with friends and the church group.

Mary loved both the Philadelphia Phillies and the Flyers and was a dedicated fan, rarely missing watching the games.

Mrs. Hufnagle is survived by her three children: Scott Hufnagle and his wife, Carolyn, Marge Steenhoff and her husband, Burke, and Rick Hufnagle and his wife, Sandy; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Her passing leaves a hole in everyone's hearts, but comfort comes in knowing she is reunited with loved ones she has long been waiting to see.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Adele (Sterner) Barndt.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
