According to US WWII Army Enlistment Records, he enlisted 19 Feb 1942 at Camp Wolters, TX. He served as an x-ray technician in New Guinea in the South Pacific. An old address change postcard sent to his father when he shipped overseas shows him in Co A, 263rd Medical Battalion.

In 1947 he married Edna H McClain and they had one daughter, Patsy Ann, born in 1948 in Dallas. However, he raised a step-son, Don McClain, as if he were his own son.

He passed away in 1987, and chose to be buried in the Veterans area because he loved his country dearly and was proud to have served during time of war.

He was a hard working man, and a father who loved unconditionally, an example of the love that our Heavenly Father has for His children.
