Lareine P. Woodward Age 97, of Gilpin Hall, died April 27, 2003.
Lareine was born October 27, 1905 in Hockessin, DE and grew up in Hockessin.

She was the daughter of Leila Ada Shakespeare and William Cloud Pierson. Lareine was baptized at Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church and became a member in 1922 of which she was a dedicated member for 81 years. For many years, Lareine and Earl sold poultry and produce from their farm on Faulkland and Centerville Roads, which is now Tybrook and Faulkland Woods Extension. She was a member of the Captain William McKennan Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, J. Earl Woodward and three brothers, Lester Jackson Pierson, Harold Shakespeare Pierson, and John Raymond Pierson.

She is survived by two sons, William J. Woodward, his wife, Frances Heal Woodward, and Ronald E. Woodward and his wife, Cathel Ross Woodward; 3 grandchildren, Rhonda W. Hutchinson and her husband Robert J., Mark A. Woodward and his wife, Mary Kingery Woodward, and R. Gregory Woodward; and 3 great-grandchildren, Robert W. Hutchinson, Sara J. Woodward and Joseph N. Woodward.

A memorial service will be held at 7 pm on Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church, 500 McKenna's Church Road, Wilmington.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church Building Fund or the Heartland Home Hospice Care of Kennett Square, PA, 261 Chapman Road, Suite 100, Newark, DE 19702.

The family of Lareine Woodward would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of Gilpin Hall for all their loving care and support.
