Reba Ketchey, 84, departed this earthly life and made her way to her heavenly home September 9, 2022. She was welcomed by both of her parents; husband, Johnnie Ketchey; sister, Thersa Ballard and son-in-law, Charles Bass.

Reba Jane Ketchey was born October 21, 1937 in Huntsville, Arkansas to Burley & Alta (Maggard) Brown. She and her late husband, Johnnie, had lived in Leon County since 1999, coming from Dallas, Texas. They were both members of Clear Creek Baptist Church. Reba was a long time employee of Woody's and dubbed herself the "Jerky Queen" having worked in the Jerky department for many years. She loved her job at Woody's and all of the people she was able to help through her job.

Reba was a fishing enthusiast. She also enjoyed crafting and was a wonderful baker and homemaker. Additionally, she liked taking care of her yard and home. But, when Reba was watching television, especially the Hallmark Channel, there was to be no talking or noise that might disturb her from watching her television shows! Reba also enjoyed the game of Solitaire. She had a servant's heart and loved doing and caring for others. Reba's family meant the world to her and she will be greatly missed by all of them.

Surviving family members include sons, Glen Meek of Marquez and his ex-wife, Traci Meek of Mesquite and Dennis Meek (Jennifer) of Rogers, AR; daughters, Brenda Bass of Nacogdoches, Annita Apker (Tracy) of Brookshire; Star Blalock-Jackson (Danny) of Tiki Island; and Kathy Cobb (Ray) of Jewett; grandchildren, Wendi Flores, Beverly Sauter, Megan Murray, Christopher "Chris" Bass, Brittany Meek, Michael Blalock, Grayson Meek and Ellason Meek and great-grandchildren, Tyler Sauter, Clarke Flores and Diesel Hughes, as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services honoring Reba's life will be held 12 noon, Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Rev. Donald Catchings will officiate the service, and interment will follow in Concord Cemetery, Concord, Texas.
