Gerald (Pokey) Ray Webb passed from this life on Saturday, September 10, 2022, in his home in Hominy, OK.

Pokey was born in Hominy, OK on November 24, 1943, to Dale L and Elsie V (Dornan) Webb. Gerald had one older brother who gave him the name, "Pokey." Tony was told by his mom when he wanted to leave the house to take his little brother with him. Tony would tell his brother, to come on, "Pokey," or hurry up, "Pokey," The name stuck his whole life.

While in school Pokey enjoyed working on cars and dragging Main Street with his buddies. Pokey graduated from Hominy High School; from there he attended Northern Oklahoma College for a couple of years. After entering the work force, Pokey was employed by the City of Hominy for a few years where he took care of the city cemetery. He took great pride making sure the graves looked great.

Pokey was introduced to Mary Wells by some family members and some friends. They soon got married on January 18, 1974, in the Presbyterian Church of Hominy; they celebrated their forty-eighth anniversary back in January 2022. To this marriage, three children came into this world. Michelle Raye, Johnny Dale, and Mary Katherine.

Pokey went to work for the County of Osage, district three; where he was a mechanic but did everything for the county. Pokey retired from this job. He was a past member of the Hominy Masonic Lodge and Adkar Shine Lodge. Pokey was a practical joker, always trying to make people laugh; but his jokes were big. He loved being with his family, spending time with them at home and in Branson. He loved going to eat with the family. Pokey enjoyed watching old western, especially the Duke, John Wayne. When it came to music, he was a fan of the Texas Troubadours and Statler Brothers. Those grandkids brought so much joy to Pokey's life; between them and his dogs and two cats' life was good.

Gerald Ray Webb (Pokey) is survived by his wife, Mary of the home. His three kids; Michelle Raye Webb, Johnny Dale (Hallie) Webb, Mary Katherine (Matt) McGrath. His brother; Tony D (Frances) Webb. Three grandchildren; Honor Katherine Webb, Lucas George McGrath and Jason McGrath. One Nephew; Toby Webb and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dale L Webb and Elsie V (Dornan) Webb.
