Dawn worked for 42 years as a surgical nurse at Jasper County Hospital. She was the Poultry Barn Superintendent for many years at the Newton County Pun'kin Vine Fair and was a member of the North Newton Athletic Boosters. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, and other craft projects.
Her passions were travel, animals, and her family. Dawn loved to travel and enjoyed planning her many trips overseas. She enjoyed going to Europe, and England in particular. While she loved to venture to far off places, she loved her home and she loved Newton County. She said there was no place else in the world she'd rather live.
She loved all animals. Any animal that needed a home had a home at Dawn's house. She took in and cared for many stray animals over the years, and not just dogs and cats.
Dawn most cherished spending time with her children. They have many fond memories of their mom and describe her as "delightfully weird in a wonderful way." She was the local expert in all things ghost tours, UFOs and Big Foot.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ron Christenson; children Jessica Christenson, Lara Christenson, and Josh Christenson; her mother, Dorothy Molson; and her sister, Gale (Mark) Christenson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Molson and grandmother, Eva Fountain.
