In her younger years, Winnie worked at the Antique Doll Museum outside of Green Forest and played in the Memory Makers Band in Green Forest. She wrote songs that she enjoyed singing and played the mandolin at her church until the past few years. Winnie was affiliated with Green Forest Assembly of God Church, where she attended faithfully for more than 40 years.
She enjoyed gardening, growing roses, was a noted cook and is remembered for her devotion to her faith and her family.
Winnie is survived by one son, Ronnie Robertson, and his wife, Sandra, of Green Forest; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Kinner, Clint, Clarence, Jewell, Fred and Joyce (Joy) Chaney; and two sisters, Ola Chaney Miller and Ethel Chaney Anderson.
Celebration of life services were held Thursday, June 8, 2006, at First Assembly of God in Green Forest with Bro. Mark Bryant officiating. Burial was in the Rule Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.smithfamilyfuneralhome.net.
