Charlene passed away in a hospital in Victoria, Texas, after a brief illness. At 89 years old, she was predeceased by her parents, William B. and Lillian E. Wood, her brother and sister in law, Darrell E and Wanda J Wood, her sons, John Raymond Jr., Donald Eugene, James Michael, and William "Billy" Scott Sharp. She is also predeceased by a grandson, Kenneth Ray Sharp.
She is survived by her sister, JoAn, two grandsons, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Charlene was a singer in her early years with her sister, Joan, and went on to sing in many clubs in the Houston area. She often sang with many who went on to be celebrities, such as Kenny Rogers. Sonny Look produced her album in the early 70's, under the name Sharlene Sharp.
She ended up going to work for the USPS for nearly 4 decades before retiring. She was witty and loveable until the day of her passing.
She will be missed by all who loved her.
